HERE’S WHY YOU SHOULD LEAVE A COIN IN THE FREEZER EVERY TIME YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE!

HERE’S WHY YOU SHOULD LEAVE A COIN IN THE FREEZER EVERY TIME YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE! AMAZING…

When you come home from a vacation or a longer trip, how many times have you noticed that your digital clocks are showing the wrong time? In most cases, this is a consequence of a blackout.

Unfortunately, when the power shortage lasts for several days, it can cause defrosting of food and its deterioration. Hence, when the electricity comes back, the foods refreeze and there is often no way to notice this. To make matters worse, this can be very dangerous since specific foods are known to spread salmonella and other types of bacteria.
Luckily, there is a very useful trick that can help you find out how long were your fridge and freezer without electricity. For this purpose, you’ll need a cup, a coin, and some water. Pour the water in the cup and put it in the freezer. When the water has frozen, put the coin on top of it and put it back into the freezer.

The next time you come home after being away for a longer period of time, before eating the food from the freezer, check to see where the coin is. Namely, if it’s still at the top of the cup or in the middle, there was probably no power shortage or there was one, but it lasted briefly. However, if the coin is at the bottom or near the bottom, it means that the blackout lasted longer. In this case, don’t consume the food in the freezer and fridge.
Don’t forget to share this with your friends and family on Facebook, you might help someone in need!
